4runner rear suspesion setup
« on: Nov 03, 2012, 11:31:03 AM »
Hey guys,
been thinking of picking up a 3rd gen  runner thats already sasd...it has trailgears sas kit on it and stuper lift set up in the rear(crazy pinion angles)...i want to convert to leafs in the rear i have a set of 63's but thinking about allpros rear kit....can anybody point me to some build threads for this topics? cant seemed to find them when i search....

Also, its a trailgear sas kit so he ran into problems with the springs not fitting in the front cross member they kept hitting the top of the military wrap before the wholes lined up... so his remedy was to mount them backwards so the tires(37's) are about 2"s back from center :smack:.... passenger shackle angle is straight up and down... any and all input would be helpful in my decision to buy this project....
all the major wwork is done ... just needs to be reworked

The Trail-Gear Kits are pretty much the same as the old Marlin kits so just about any installs you find here will apply.

Crap did I say Trail-Gear, I meant All-Pro

All-Pro is pretty much the same as Marlin's old spring swap not Trail-Gear, only thing I could think of with your other issue is that the Trail Gear SAS is probably not designed to be used with the military wrap style springs. The hanger mounts probably have less clearance and can't clear the extra spring wrap.

I just checked their site and it says the front springs have full military wrap on the front mount and 1/4 on the rear mount. Odd that they wouldn't fit. Are you sure the springs are TG?

yup says right on the top 4'' trail gear springs....i can tell by looking at the hanger that they donnt have enough clearance for the military wraps...do they have a specific side that suppoese to face foward on the hanger? or are they universal as long as its centerd and plum? amlost sound like i should get an allpro front hanger...
Also!!! the springs are brand new but the kits been on for 4years now so maybe trail gear didnt have their crap figured out yet back then...(with full wrap springs)

I saw a set of TG springs that were too short and not the same length on a friends swap. They did take care of it with no hassle.
