Which tires to get? IROK's, TSL SX's or boggers???
« on: Feb 11, 2005, 09:12:07 PM »
I just bought a 4Runner so I'm going to be getting rid of my BFG muds on my trail rig. Which tire should I go with? I was thinking about either the IROK, TSL SX or the bogger? I'm not gonna be doing that much driving on the road anymore? Give me some help guys!!

I have heard that Irocs are really good on the trail and the road too.  A guy told me that his irocs would climb stuff on the sidewall that his old SX's couldn't.

Out of those 3 I'd go with the SX, I've seen too many Irok's with major gashage in the sidewall, the Bogger well... SX's are super stiff but once you get them broken in they work great, you could always go with a straight TSL too.

I agree with KYOTA about the Irok's sidewall. My brother has the 36's and they're pretty slashed. He's only ran them 3-4 times too. But, they do pretty good. My cuz has some Boggers. And They have some chunks taken out of the lugs. But he is pretty hard on them.

Ive got 37x12.5 ssr's on my rig.  They work pretty freakin good so far.  They have a little chunking from the rocks but nothing major and they grip really well.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

I love my irocks and no worries at all from side wall or otherwise..if you get them from 4wheel parts you can get the offroad warranty with them..my 36's are the same size as any of the 37's I have seen and bigger then the 37 irock radials..
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

bias ply iroks kick ass.
the radials dont have as strong of a sidewall.
i have tsl's and have had no problems with them.
the bias ply tires have really tough sidewall.
boggers are super tough also.
but they dont sidehill very well since the lugs are not staggered at all.
i wouldnt get ssr's again if they were given to me.
i got some 37x12.5x15 ssr's, they chunked really bad, and i ripped 2 sidewalls in 3 trips.
the sidewalls on them are like 1/2 as thick as other good bias ply swampers.

I like my Iroks a lot. They are really good on the rocks and awsome on the snow. I heard some people air down to 4 PSI on the snow with them and the bead never poped off.

I went with the radials sence this is my DD and i have about 7,000 miles on them and they have barly warn down. They havent got chunked up at all.

I say it kinda depends what kind of wheeln ya do. I have 36 sx's and  I really like them. I wheel mostly Fordyce , and Rubicon. They work great on the rocks and snow, I air down to about 8 psi and have not had any problems yet. They are on my DD and Ive had them about 2 years now. They are wearing really well, but I rotate them w/ every oil change. When I buy another set of tires I will go with sx's agian.
