wheel bearing question
« on: Feb 01, 2012, 10:08:20 PM »
im replacing the wheel bearings on a toy solid front axle. the fsm calls for 6.5-11 pounds resistance. with the spindle nut loose it takes a good 15 pounds. my dad thinks its because its cold out and maybe the grease is a little thicker do to the cold. i dont know anybody got an idea? i need to get these things adjusted. iv never had a problem doing bearings before.

Why not set it on the high side now at 11 and check it when it's warm to see what the difference is?

Try the wheel stud (where you're supposed to pull from), better leverage, should lower reading

would the wheel stud be the studs the lug nuts go on?
