driving a car is dangerous

if you properly maintain them, they are fine, if you neglect them, they are not fine

Just check tourque when ever you rotate tires and you'll be OK. I've had worse problems with aluminum wheels than I've had with my wheel spacers.

Depends on the spacers.  The type that marlin sells are perfectly fine as long as you maintain them (checking torque regularly).  The ones you can buy that just slide over the existing lugnuts are horrible.  All you're doing there is limiting the contact/thread area on your wheel studs for the wheels and lugnuts to seat.

Depends on if you get the special lug nuts that sink down when the wheel spacer is.
