need help with 4.88's

what years yotas came with 4.88 gears. im going to the junkyard tomorrow.

v6 3rd gen runners
there 487's
get a supra lsd while your there and have a factory 488 lsd diff
I ve ran them there awesome for front or rear

great advise guys thnx. i picked them up those 4.88s are awesome i can only imagine how the 5.29s are lol. i got the gears out of
2 different runners.  o, what are your guys thoughts on e-lockers vs air lockers? just lookin for some input, not sure witch way to go.

I perfer ARB over the e-locker. I think they are stronger. But, I do not know if ARB make a locker that will work in the 4:88 Toyota diffs, the housings are built different then the standard V-6.I have heard that you can use the 4 cylinder ARB in the 4:88 housing but you have to use different bearings or some like that. Do not know how true it is because I have never seen one. Be easy on the factory 4:88 gears because there is no after market support as far as gears that I know of, so that leaves you with OEM from the dealer at about $1,000.00 for a ring and pinion set. That is the reason I never ran them and sold the two diffs I had, I break R&P's.
