1985 Toyota Xtra Cab Rockcrawler *CHEVY SWAP*
« on: Feb 04, 2011, 02:29:50 PM »
I am selling my one of a kind fully built Toyota rock crawler. This truck is as clean as they come inside and out with new interior carpet, suspension seats and a recent paint job. There is less than 15,000 miles on most of the running gear and its ready to go alot farther. its Totally street legal with removeable mud flaps but it doubles as an amazing trail rig with detroit lockers in both axles and dual transfer cases there is not alot of places it cant go. Not only is the Chevy motor a lot more powerfull but its power steering pump is way higher output than the one on the 22RE motor so I havent really needed to go with ram assist steering and lose some of the feel out of the steering wheel It handles great on the road and is a daily driver as well.  Clean title and a recent passing smog report in hand. The engine swap has been officially approved and certified by the California smog bereau so registration will be seamless for the buyer. there is a little certification placard mounted under the hood on the firewall Ill list some of the parts that i have put on the truck over the last couple years below, the price is $9,500 OBO. you can message me with questions or call to set up a time to come and check it out. (707) 548-2582.

ENGINE:
4.3L fuel injected Chevy V6, K&N air filter, new cap and rotor, new spark plugs and wires

TRANSMISSION:
5-speed manual with dual transfer cases. 2.28:1 and 5:1 gears, the whole unit was just recently rebuilt by NorCal Transmission and has less than 3,000 miles on it, shifts very smooth like a brand new car, Advanced Adapters engine conversion bellhousing kit, custom 3/8" skid plate with gussets and full underside protection

SUSPENSION:
Alcan front leaf springs with schackle reversal kit, 6" drop schackles, orbit eye joints and new bushings (the front springs were custom made for this vehicle and its specific weight, they ride like a dream and flex incredibly. 63" chevy spirngs with 6.5" drop schackles in the rear and long travel Bilstien gas shocks on all four corners add to the smoothness of the ride.

FRONT AXLE:
30 spline Longfield chromoly birfields and inner axle shafts, 5:29 gears, Detroit locker, chromoly hub gears, Aisen locking hubs, fully gusseted housing, ARP knuckle studs, freshly rebuilt knuckles, landcruiser brake rotors and oversized calipers, heavy duty hysteer kit, magnetic differential drain plugs, 18" slip travel drive shaft with super strong tractor splines, professionally balanced.

REAR AXLE:
Larger IFS style rear axle with wider stance and larger drum brakes. 5:29 gears, Detroit locker 2 drive shafts one for trail spare, the differential was built by Marlin Crawler and is the heavy duty V6 model its got less than 15,000 miles on it, magnetic drain and fill plugs and ring gear protection plate welded onto the housing.

Some other things that come with the truck are 5 37x12.5 MTR tires and 15” steel wheels a CD/MP3 player, vibe amp, 10" MTX sub, power windows, 8000lb winch and front bumper corbeau baja RS suspension seats and a custom built interior roll cage, new carpets and floor mats

the springs in the front are alcan 5" lifts and the schackles are 6" The rear springs are chevy 63s and i made my own blocks.  They are about 1 and 1/8" in the back and 7/8'' in the front i made them out of solid steel and i sloped them like that to improve the pinion angle for the rear differential
