Do you know if its a G54(22R) or a W56-B(22RE)? Was it bolted to a top shift or forward shift t-case? Do you have any pics? Where are you located in socal?

we took the carberated motor out and put it in my bros. truck. the rear axle is now in my truck, and the range box hopefully will be in my truck soon. bolted to a top shift t-case.  i don't have any pics today, maybe on monday.
quick question: you sound like you're knowledgeable about these trans.,,, i have a 93 runner that some times pops out of 1st gear. i noticed the bell housing is removable on the 86 trany. will this bolt up to the 93 runner? :dunno:

Not sure, but I think any man. trans off of a 22R, 22RE are interchangable. But the problem is the transfercase, as far as I can tell a forward shift case has to be bolted up to a trans with forward shift, same with a topshift trans to a topshift case. If you are swapping a complete assemble (trans+t-case) I don't think it matters.

If its a G54 it should of had a forward shift t-case. Is that correct?

you can definitly install a top shift t-case to a tranny that originally excepted a forward shift you just have to make a block off plate for where the top shift shifter went.
