Anyone know what gas tank will fit where the spare tire used to be on a 85 toyota 4runner. I would like an extra tank. But dont want to pay NWOR $400 bucks for one...

not sure about the 4runner, but im going to try and mount a supra tank where my spare is,   then just turn the pump on and pump the fuel into my tank

The 4runner has a drain plug on the bottom of the tank I was gonna run a line to the extra tank and gravity feed the main tank.It will be time consuming filling the thing though..

I installed a Nissan Pathfinder tank where the spare tire goes in my Dads 1987 Nissan Hardbody 4x4.  I'm not sure of the dimensions, but it's gotta be close to fitting in between the frame rails of a Toyota truck...

I actually used the Pathy tank with the in tank pump and sending unit, and used a switching valve from an industrial truck and a large switch to control which tank does what. It works with the factory fuel guages in the dash (main and sub guage) and switches over instantly.  The tricky part was the high pressure EFI tank lines, but that even is pretty easy.  The 4Runner tanks are setup just like the truck tanks, but the pathfinder uses a rear mounted tank.

Hope this helps!
