Bed Drawers
« on: Mar 08, 2009, 10:36:30 AM »
Anyone using bed drawers to store gear in a truck ?

I am looking at the Weatherguard and the Tuffy versions.

Seems the Weatherguard one is 383 lbs. - sounds like way too much weight.

The Tuffy is about half that.

Just wanted to see some pics ? and get some opinions of the idea or product.

Thanks

I use red sweatpants cutt offs for my bed drawers.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Both Weather Guard and Tuffy are very heavy items, and costly. Which lead to very few people using them, however, at NorthernTool I found and Aluminum one that is less then half the wieght of the other two. I've not yet purchased it myself but plan to.

Looks like a camping machine. I was interested in this a while back. Thought I would be good to have a little extra weight in the back.

I have a Tuffy one. It is nice to have but takes up a lot of bed space. You can see it with the bars over it in the bed.

There was a post on Pirate where a guy mounted a drawer between the frame rails under his flatbed so it pulled out the rear. It was pretty slick, but i cant find it anywhere!

So here is one like it but no better pictures. But the drawer folded down and the guy had his whole toolbox in there. Pretty slick

Anyone seen any new ideas for bed drawers  ?

Looking for drawers about 8-12" tall, 30-40" wide, metal, lockable, and weather proof.
