Your best bet is ust build your own.
Worst comes to worst, you could get FJ60 tie rod, cut the threads off and weld it onto a heim, from like ballistic fab.
Naw just clearance the bottom of the frame rail and patch it with some steel. i've seen a thread on here some where maybe someone else has too they can post the link up.
Why would you build them so big. Have you ever bent a 1.25 .250?
yeah I'm thinkin I will try sleeving on a new piece for a standard hiem. Any of you guys have a suggestion on what size hiem I should go with?
Because thats what tube fit the size of tube adapters and heims they were using. And yes, but not with a high steer setup. My buddy paul is running a 2in .50 wall tie rod on his d60 with low steer, it is not straight.
either 5/8's or 3/4. i personally prefer a 3/4x5/8's (3/4 shank 5/8ths hole) for lots more travel on the hiem for the drag link then just regular 3/4's for the tierod
A bunch of people I wheeled with converted to heims, all of them made a new 1.5 .250 wall tie rod. Much stronger setup
Any of you guys have a suggestion on what size hiem I should go with?
That's the way I went after bending a high steer tie rod.I went 3/4" by 3/4" Midwest Control from Ballistic. I believe they are @ $8-$9 a piece. I carry spares for that price.
Why would you use a Midwest,QA1 or Ruff Heim over something like an FK or Aurora???
Price. Simple as that. So far, the Midwest Control heim has worked perfect for my steering aplication (39.5" Iroks, hydro assist). My 4Runner sits in the garage 98% of the time. It's taken out 6-10 times over the year and trailered. Maybe sees 500-1500 miles a year. The Midwest Control heims were cheep enough I could buy spares and still be less than an FK or Aurora.
