sticking t-case? tranny? hubs?
« on: May 11, 2010, 08:06:42 PM »
I know this isn't the taco forum but the problem may not be taco specific. My truck a 2000 taco 4x4 trd v6 manual tranny, when facing down hill and at a stop my sticks in place, even if in neutral. when I finally put it in gear to take off, it'll rev but not move and then just slam into gear and go. thought it was the hubs at first but may be the transfer case??

Anyone else have this kind of issue before?

Weird! Sounds like maybe evertything is binding a little, Then slaps in?

When you shift does everything seat right, full engagment? Doesn't sound like an oil problem it's a manual. Perhaps it's a sencro problem?

When you are facing down hill and it is neutrul does it roll down without any problems?
If you see it, its for sale.

hey zippo, yeah def'ly binding going on. when on neutral facing down hill, it locks up and wont move forward, this is when in neutral no brake being pressed

my mechanic was telling me it may be the solenoid in the t-case since mine are not the manual locking hubs (auto hubs suck!!  :))
