Toyota Tranny ???'s
« on: Apr 30, 2010, 05:04:44 PM »
Can you bolt a t-case up to a 5 speed 2wd tranny to make it 4wd or is the tranny different? i'm wondering because im looking into buying an 85 22re 2wd 5-speed for the motor to swap into my 83 crawler, but was wondering if i should keep the tranny as a backup or get rid of it.

thanks all

yes and no,   it wont just bolt up but if you change the output shaft of the 2wd to a 4wd output it will work (the 2wd output is much longer than the 4wd)
