loud noise?

i just recently bought a dual case setup from a local wheeler (friend of a friend). it has a marlin adapter and bolted right up to my trans. (i was jazzed!) now when i'm on the road in 2wd all high, 5th gear, there is a really loud noise that i believe is coming from the cases. it only happens when coasting (just letting of the throttle, in gear.) it also happens when i hit a bump in the road and the suspension unloads.?. not sure what it is. new oil in cases. bad bearing maybe?? but at slow speeds, or in low range, no noise. any ideas?? did i buy broken cases??

pull the magnetic drain plug out of the crawl box and see what is stuck to it

What kind of a noise is it; grinding, clunk, whine, ping, klang, pop, bang, pow... ?

it's a loud grinding/whine. sounds like gears that aren't meshed correctly or something. i don't know. both cases feel like they are working smoothly. but the noise is really bothering me.

Just a stab in the dark:
Check the front CV joint clearance to the crossmember? Volcom had the same noise going up Blanca... pulled both diffs before he realized the CV was hitting the crossmember.

front shaft isn't in yet. haven't built one yet. thanks though.

could it be a rear end clunk? when it makes the noise does the truck do anything else
