Hello, I'm having issues with my transmission I have a 88 Toyota 4runner its an automatic trans its very slow on take off but if I drop it down to 1st take off is great once shift to second gear it laggs a bit as well I'm planning either to fix the problem or just convert it to a Manuel trans already. Any advice on what direction I should take.? And if I do the conversion what will be an estimate price on a project like this.? v6 or 22re in the 4runner? When I bought my 85 it had an auto(A340h) which was a dog on a good day and it missed 3rd gear and goes straight into overdrive. After much thought, I went ahead and swapped in a w56b from an 88 pickup. It is relatively straight forward and the only true electrical to get it running is to jump the park/neutral plug. Probably cost you no more than a couple hundred bucks (buying a w56 and tcase) to do it. Besides, when you decide to upgrade to the Ultimate marlin (and you will ) you don't need an adapter for the tcases to the transmission.

you will still need the mco7 to adapt the crawl box to the front of your t-case.
