im in the market for a bender and this one seems like something i would be interested in. if your going to build one keep the board updated on the difficulty level of the build and if it does whats is advertised.

Well I have already built one as stated above. It was not hard to build at all. You will need a drill press with the larger size bits and a good welder capable of welding 5/8" steel. It is an excellent bender and works great I have used it to build my bumper, and flat bed.

i have this bender as well, it does as advertised, plans are very good, built two pairs of sliders, a stinger winch bumper, a regular winch bumper, and working on an exo... if you build it you won't be dissappointed...

i made one that matched the plans it worked good but i wore it out all the holes got sloppy and egged out and the frame started to twist (some parts where made from thinner steel) and it was cobbled togeather.
a wile ago i scraped that one and built another one off of the same basic principal except the die sits about 4 ft tall so your not bending over all the time and the front and back are longer because the old one would all ways tip over with a full length in it. i also used brass bushings in the pivot points and stuck some nice casters underneath it. its currently air over hydro other than being slow i like it, i plan on upgrading to electric over hydro soon.

Built one as well good bender I had all the holes in mine done on a mill thought and cut the side plates and all on it.  Turned out really well the only change I made was to make the bottom tube out of receiver tubing and legs that extend out about 4ft and mounted it all on 1000lb castors to move around easier.  Good plans and good finished product in my opinion.

I bought the plans and was planning on building one.  My dad, buddy & and I ended up just buying a JD2 and converting it to air over hydro rather than rounding up all the material to build the gottrikes bender.  It saved us some time but cost us a bit more.  The gottrikes bender looks to be a good design though!
