Power Steering Pulley Noise
« on: Jan 06, 2010, 06:51:59 AM »
One of the pulleys that run the belt for my power steering on my 1980 pickup makes noise once in a while. It is not the belts making the noise, rather, it sounds as if one the pulleys has a bad bearing. I think it is the main pulley coming directly off the power steering pump. Can a new bearing be installed, or am i looking at buying the whole assembly?

the pulley on the pump is not serviceable,  but the tensioner pulley often goes to making noise cause of the bearing
