Topic: need some info about transfercases

I need some pics of the differences between a top shift w56 and a front shifter w56... i'm looking for a new tranny but i haven't gotten the two quite figured out yet. i know one has the shifter coming out of the top of the t-case and the other shifts out of the top of the transmission... so please any pics with info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks a million dude, thats what i thought although i wasn't sure about the w56-a or c part. I used to wheel a Bronco II but sold it to pay bills... that thing had 3 transmissions and all were interchangeable and i was pissed when i found out how many trannies and x-cases these trucks used.

p.s. i was reading your thread and i like what you've done with your engine
