Dana 60 front and 14b or 70 rear is the first thing I would change. If your goin full width might as well do it right the first time.

With a 5" lift I would run 37s and 5.29s.

The gears wont cost anything to change and 37's make life nice on the trail.

Also I have a few friends who wouldnt buy x-terrains again. I love my mtrs

488 are nice though 529s are great and all but alot weaker. I would stick with the 488 and a dual case plus that gives you a higher top speed which is allway good....  :gap:

Go with what you can afford, but make sure you do it right. I'd use marlin springs( better quality) definitely wouldn't dump a ton of money into the 12 bolt and 44. If they're dirt cheap, use them until you go stronger.  5.29s are fine.  The weakness is for the most part a myth, there are a couple of links floating around the boards debunking the myth with strength tests.

thanks for the advice guys. ill probably stick with the 4.88s because this truck is going to see asphalt more than trail and driving five and a half hour back to my home town wouldnt be fun with 5.29s haha

I would like to see those strength test if you could get me a link that would be tits.. I have gone to 2 sets of 529s that marlin has set up and 1 was cryod and heat treated by bobby long.

Here's one of the links.  Its not the one I had in mind, but it does a comparison of 4.10s to 5.71s.

The other ones I've seen are similar.  I'll keep poking around.
