need some quick help
« on: Sep 01, 2009, 07:49:37 AM »
ok i have an 85 runner that i blew up the engine. i picked up a good engine from an 88 truck. i put the engine in and it starts GREAT. but as soon as i hit the gas it dies out. i was told the comps are different. is this true? could this be affecting the problem. i tried the timing... good... good fuel, filter new, plugs and wires new. what else could be the issue? i want to start driving it again. if this is the problem can i just switch the comps and get it to work.

Maybe do a quick comparison and see if you are using all the same connectors for the electronics.. make sure they are all being used and hooked up with no extras.. I would start there..
