No power from my 22re
« on: Jul 17, 2009, 12:41:56 PM »
Hey there guys and gals,I recently did a 22re swap into my 81.I got all the wiring done but there is still something wrong. The only way it will stay running is if i hot wire it.I think there is a wire in the ignition that isnt getting power. My othere problem is that i have no power when its running. With the foot to the floor it only goes about 5-10 MPH.I can figure it out and i know its something simple.I think i am overthinking it.Please help me out with this,i just want to be able to drive my truck again its been down to long. :(

Checked the TPS?  Do you know if everything was running correctly when the engine was pulled?

Yeah as far as i know everything was running correctly.I think i may have something with the wiring wrong. But we followed the chiltons book for the wiring.I know its something simple and that we are overthinking the problem. Its just got to be something simple we just cant figure it out.

Not sure what year 22re you used, but this '93 FSM, should help you troubleshoot your poor/no throttle response.

What year did the engine come from? Some of them have weird injectors/wiring like the 88 Might look into that the TPS and te AFM. Goo Luck
