For another point, what makes German Castrol unique?

For anyone but you, what was the original color of German Castrol?

100% synthetic has no class III additives that would make it not full synthetic. Royal Purple, Red Line, and one other i am forgetting are pure sythetics. US castrol, mobil 1 and most other synthetics are no longer 100% synthetic

+1 Greetings fellow oil geek.  I figure it's a right of passage for as much time as I waste on that side.  The engineering mind is a wonderful thing to waste.

The jury is still out on Mobil 1, but people seem to be developing faith once again.  I tend to believe that they were saving money for a time, possibly maybe.
