SAS Q and A

SAS - the final frontier... Alright I've had an SAS in mind for several years, always floating around the back burner vbehind my go-fast dreams (AKA to damn expensive wishful thinking) now I'm starting pull my resources together for it. I need to know what needs to be done (Frame reinforcements, measure ments for perches etc.) I would prefer to fab lots of the stuff at home like the perches, Shock Mounts, and anything I could machine at a buddies shop. Interested in areas which I should expect becoming problematic along with the cheap way around front leafs, (Low-Budget build up [DUH]) Any help or comments is greatly appreciated.

Yep it is a bit slow just skip to the good parts where I do the sas. I think it starts on page page 11 torwards the bottom of the page. That should save you a little time.

You still havent read $300 have you? Pretty much all your suspension and SAS related questions are answered there. Put it this way I have just under $450 in my truck as of now. How in the hell can you get any cheaper that that

Ahh finally I got An Axle, it came out of an 85 EFI that my best friend had... So on with the project, What are those of you running an SAS using to brace the frame? 1/4" 3/8" ......Need some Ideas before I plunge into choppin off the front end of my 86
, with the shop I can use it's gotta be a one shot deal in and out in a weekend so it's gotta all be figured out and ready to go, I found a vehicle from which I'll pluck the rear leafs - a 70 something fullsize ford but hey it's free and it comes with the Ford 9" 5 lug they're on.
So white trash, hyena, anybody with an SAS shoot some digi pics and post em for me, tell me how to do the job please... Right the first time...like I said It's gotta roll in friday night and out Sunday...
