Topic: Please Advise - 1988 fuel injection - old fuel

Hi! can someone please assist.
I was considering purchasing a 1988 4runner with fuel injection.  The 4runner has old fuel, has that bad fuel smell.

What would be the process for restoring the fuel system? besides cleaning the gas tank out, what else is recommend?

Could I simply clean the tank out and run any existing bad fuel through the system?  If I can get the 4runner to start?

dain it with the drain plug in the bottom, then just add new gas, running a little bad stuff through it shouldn't hurt anything

You could also disconnect the fuel line an blow em out.

Depending on how much old fuel is in there you could add fuel stabilizer and run it. But you would be better off draining the tank.
