Square tubing or square d-shaft
« on: Jun 16, 2009, 12:24:15 AM »
I know its an odd request but anyone have leftover 2.5" and/or 2" -1/4'' wall square tubing leftover from a square driveshaft build???  I only need about 2' of each size, and am trying to get out of buying full lengths.  A full square front d-shaft would work too.  preferibly in the Fresno area.  :beerchug:

when I bought mine from valley iron they told me they woould only cut the smaller one into a shorter length, the larger one would have to be 10' so I bought 10' of each.

that would be cool if they will cut both sizes like you say they did for you.    I paid $130 for 10' of each    this was 2 years ago.

sorry, I built one for me, one for my brother, and I left it at my brothers place, and everyone thought it was a free for all just cause I didn't need it right away.

I have 2 1/2 outside 2" inside square, and the 2" Outside 1 1/2 inside square tube your looking for (I think).  Its the stuff used in trailer hitch's.  I can part with some pieces, if your still in need.  I am in Santa Cruz, so shipping would be in order.

the 2.5 you want is called "receiver tube" is does not have weld on the inside. If you use regular tubing you will have to try to grind this off so the 2 inch will slide cleanly inside.  last time i was there valley iron sells this buy the foot.and they have a scrap pile you may find a peice of 2 inch square.
