I have a high-performance stainless steel header on my truck, along with a K&N Supercharger System;  I love the set up, and get 20+ extra horsepower.  That stuff coupled with my 5.29's, and my truck really gets up and go's....

For an extra 20 HP, that K&N Supercharger system better be belt-driven

I have a downey Header on my 22re, 2 1/4" inlet and 3" out.
It does give it alot more power up high in the revs but I did notice my stock 22re had more lowend torque, but thats just the way headers work. :twocents:

i've got a thorley on my 20/22 hybrid, the fit and finish of the flange wasn't too great(i hate that welded bead junk, the whole thing should just be flat) but once i straightened that out(it was leaking out of the air injection holes, so i welded them closed) it's been pretty good.  it bolted up and points straight back instead of at the bellhousing like some headers.

i don't know if its the header or the properly tuned carb, but i can hit 70 like child's play where before it took a lot of flooring it.

lc stainless header. its a top end header and there where it kicks. all 2 1/4" with a magnaflow. sounds nice crusing around town, much better when you on it like a rapped ape. i think the thorley design is better but quality goes to the lc
Im an OG

I found a used NWOR header on Ebay about a year ago, I also have a magnaflow cat and 2 1/4" exhaust. The header did make a little power, I used a Toyota gasket and have been leak free since installing it. I check the bolts about once a month, be careful not to overtighten them and pull the threads out of the head...

I got a Thorley on my junk...dunno how much power it was worth, b/c it went on when I dropped in a fresh mill. :yesnod: 2 1/4 all the way back, it does run and sound good, though.

I have the Downey header on my '87 22re and it made a hell of a difference, especially with a high flow cat and a magnaflow muffler.  Kinda sounds like a 4 stroke quad on steroids.  It has the trd level 2 cam and many other mods though...

I'm runnin an unknown brand 4 into 1 I picked up years ago for $30 at a yard.  The collector is 2.5" so that's what I was runnin all the way, but with no cat and a shortish glasspack it would straight ring your ears.  I dug it but everybody else griped, and my deerless hunting record kinda pushed me to adding another muffler(2.25"), but I lost some low end grunt when I added that.  With my header it pulls harder/higher through the rpm range and seems to have decent low end.  I had a downey and liked the design, but used it as a partial trade and never got to run it.  I have a NWOR tri-y I picked up off ebay a while back, gonna run it after I slap together another hybrid for my truck.  The build quality on it is probably the best I've seen to date.

The one and only thing that I got from NWOR was there header its realy beafy the flange at the head is like 1/2 thick so you have no wories about warpage also the ball type coupling is nice. One problem is there expensive. Im happy with mine the thing will definatly last as long as my truck will.

:tantrum: thats the #1 reason the scrambler still sits in the driveway damn smog control laws. I know it's a necessary evil but It's going to cost me $300 at least to make it Smog legal and one of the things they say has to go is my headers. Oops sorry :offtopic:

the scrambler is a salvage title so it has to pass an inspection before they'll register it
