Seat question
« on: Jun 19, 2008, 10:54:07 PM »
I have an 89 pickup extra cab with the 60/40 bucket seats. Will bucket seats from a 92 4runner bolt right in?

Thanks

maybe.... toyota did some wierd things through the years... when i put buckets from an sr5 truck into my truck with a bench (both from the same year) i had to drill 1 hole per side for the buckets.....

shouldn't be much of an issue though

I think they should just bolt in.   Dirtoyboy did this to his 93 pickup when he installed his dual transfer cases.  He doesn't mention anything in his build thread about drilling any holes.  He is out of town this week or I would call him and ask him.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Should go right in no problem, you may have to drill holes for the inside mounts but that should be the only issue if any.

Does anyone know how likely it is that most seats from the pick-up/tacoma are pretty much straight swaps? I was wondering if the bench from a 2004 and earlier tacoma/SR5 would bolt in to my 82?

I would think that it would be too wide.  The newer taco's are something like 6" wider than the 1st gens

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if there was any differences or not. they all seem small to me, and I don't have any experience of being around the two at the same time to compare.

I've been planning to stop by and get an estimate on getting mine refoamed & covered. Maybe I'll find time this week.

Yes, they should bolt right in...you should have a couple extra bolt holes in your floor to accomodate the buckets

Mine orginally came w/ buckets, but the PO changed it to a bench many years ago. It looks like a typical bench from that era.

So you're saying a bench style from a 85-04 should work then? I'd just like to have some options in the event they want too much to redo mine.
