Hi all, I have a thread running looking in advice in the 85-95 forums on this too, but it seems like this is where I should have posted to begin with. To make a long story short, I have a w56b I got on Craigslist, and I own a w56c thats blown. Was under the impression that if I wanted to keep forward shift, all I needed to do was swap the tailhousings ( see here:)

installed the tranny back in the truck WITHOUT checking to see if it would even shift through all the gears. Case in point; it wont shift into 1st, 3rd, or 5th. Now, a couple of days later, and after a lot of hunting forums online, I think I realized our problem

, which was PLAINLY stated in the thread I linked to above. Use the C shift parts with the C housing and B with the B. So, were we supposed to swap all the shifter rods and forks as well?? Any insight would be helpful!!!!
Thanks everyone.
