Are Isuzu and toyota manual hubs interchangable?
« on: Mar 16, 2008, 07:09:33 PM »
I have a 1989 Runner with automatic hubs that I want to convert to manuals.  I went to a local yard and found two isuzus with Aisin Hubs.  They look like the Toyota's but can I use them?  Any info will be greatly appreciated.

got a spare hub and cv shaft laying around? Carry them to the junk yard and unbolt one and find out. I have put Asian hubs off a Toyota on a Nissan Patrol before just had to order a set of hub gears from Nissan saved me about 300 bucks on the swap from auto to manual hubs..

you could also go to the autozone or other partsa store web site, put in your vehicle, and the isuzu and see if they are the same part number.

No they are not the same, the hub gear is different. The rest is the same so you could order the gears from Toyota or Bobby Long  http://www.longfieldsuperaxles.com/ unless it is for IFS then you will have to source them from the dealer.

So let me get this straight. The chrome part that the dial connects to is the same between the SA Toy ones and the Isuzu ones? If this is true, I may have just saved some $$.
