87 Toy SAS
« on: Jul 08, 2004, 01:19:39 PM »
I have an 87 toy reg cab short bed that I am currently swapping axles with an 85. All the parts are here just waiting for a welder. Will be running 5.29 Yukon's front and back (welded rear), marlin's highsteer arms, sas hanger kit, and probably ranger leafs. I'm getting the dual case adapter from a friend and need another t-case soon. Also am considering coverting to EFI since my engine is pulled and being rebuilt. Still haven't resolved what to do about the gas tank/fuel pump issue. Already have access to all other EFi components. Suggestions?
In Progress: 3RZ-FE Swap Underway.

Currently: 87' 4Runner - SAS - 5.29's - welded rear - Dual 2.28 cases - Optima bluetop - round headlight conversion - FZJ80 grill - rattlecan paint job - trimmed fenders - Ranger hybrid springs front - Tacoma hybrid springs rear - schedule 160 drivelines 8" slip front - Marlin's crossmember - disk brake conversion

mid 80's to mid 90's fords used a external pump that ran at 39 psi whild the stock toy pump for efi ran at 38 so its a very good matchup.

Sounds like a fun project lets see some pics  And what about a wrecking yard for the EFI tank ? Or a tow yard , they like to part cars out that are going to the junk yard to make some more cash

Is that Ford's in general or F-150's, Escorts...anything? I'm assuming it has to come off an efi equiped ford aswell.

Removed the rear drivelive and 3rd member and started setting up the Yukon 5.29s and am pulling off the front suspenion now. Unfortunatly I found out I don't have a 220 outlet in my house for the welder so I may have to get it on a flatbed to a freinds house to complete it.
