« on: Mar 22, 2008, 04:04:49 PM »
Hi guys,

I have just started getting this noise from my transmission. When I put the truck in reverse I get a clicking noise if i go slow.

next when i am driving i put it in 4th and no matter slow i move the shifter i still get a little bit of a grind.

another issure i get is when i am in second gear and snow down i get a little bit of a tick/grinding noise.

i checked the fluid and its fine.

is my tranny screwed?

any help would be greatful

drain the oil  and see what  comes out,  if  it has  alot of metal shavings  or brass, its time for a rebuilt tranny

I have been reading and reading, but I can't reallly find that much info on a R150 F with the 5.15,

I know that 4.56s would be perfect for 33s and my combo, but how does that factor with the new lower gear set?

thanks

It could be low on gear oil, thats unusual for that tranny to have problems unless your really mashing on it

that was my first thought, but when i took the fill plug out there was justg a little tiny stream comming out, so i forced some more in there and it slowed the problem for about a half hr. but it came back

How often are you changing the oil?  What type of oil do you use?

the oil was really clean, i haven't drained it yet because it is raining outside.
