Topic: dual tcase won't mount back up! help!

well, just tried putting in my dual tcase up, and the it goes in but there is a 1/2 in gap that i can't get to close up.  the crawl box the i have i built from a doner 79 that has the splines in the shaft that are supposed to be ground down.  i ground them down, not all the way but pretty far, and it still doesn't go in.  any suggestions?

well ya gotta   grind the part on the 79 input  that  rises  from the other splines, or it will never  go together

i did, but how far am i supposed to grind it?  i ground it down to where the long sharp points of the splines are completely gone and its now almost smooth and it still won't go in.  am i supposed to take it down all the way to where the splines are gone(the sharp pointed ones) and it is smooth?  thanks for the reply glen
