Well, been a Jeep guy for a long time, but recently parted out my XJ.  Still own a WJ, but will soon be acquiring an 84 Toyota 4x4 pickup, solid axle, 4.10s, 22r, & 5spd.

Plan to make it trail worthy...as I'm use to VERY capable vehicles.  Here is a pic of my XJ I parted out.  It had 38" SXs, 14" lift, rear coils, and a 4.3 atlas. (follow the link).

Looking into Marlins dual case set up, 4.7 low gears, and whatever I need to get a good crawl ratio...what's up with the "ToyBox"...info anyone?

Suggestions encouraged

you may not want a 4.70 kit if you are going to use it in the mud.I just saw the name and thought of this..You will not have any foward momenton unless using higher gears like 3-5 and that might be a bit much on the t-case and trans..duel t-case would be ok though..Just a thought..

Well, the name doesn't reflect my intent.  Actually, it is a name I had with an old CJ I had with some superswampers on it.  Just point it at some mud, and hit the gas.

My XJ was more of a rock hound, with LOTS of flex.

Just keeping the name for simplicity sake.

well in that case crawl it out..duels with 4.70 or triple case to save a few bucks. Then you don;t need to worry about loosing the ability for momentum..You can still have stock gears and use your main case..and its still cheaper or about the same give or take as getting a 4.70 set..Just a matter or drive line and wheelbase..

Okay, dual cases, then regearing it with the 4.7 is what I'd like to do.  But, I have to junking for a second case.

But, what is this "ToyBox".  It fits between your tranny and tcase, and can be geared with the 4.7 from the get go.

What is better, and why.  Will it fit behind a stock '84 5-spd tranny in a yota pickup with a 22r motor?

I learned a lot with my Jeeps.  And the most important thing I learned was to build it right the first time.  It saves time, money and aggrevation.

Thanks.

the toy box is for the landcrusier, and some other applications..From what I understand its a conversion to install a mini truck crawler box to a cruser and other type t-cases..cruzilla has one he could better describe it..
