Topic: 87 22r with L45 4sp. Will it work?

Ive got an 82 4x4 pickup with an L45 4sp tranny. The engine is crap. So I bought a wrecked 87 2wd toy with an auto tranny that has a good engine.

The question is, will my L45 bolt onto the '87 block without any problems? I did some searches but came up with nothin.

Im really hoping I wont have to get a later tranny right now. I plan on it later but if I can get get away with this I'd be really happy right now.

I really hope so. I dont want to temporarily run the 2wd auto.

it will bolt up. you'll be fine aside from the junk L series trans.

well the L tranny will be gone after I sell some parts off the parts truck to pay for a heftier tranny. But this is so I can just have it drivable for now.

hey it's all good  I'm driving to work every day with a l52 that thinks it's an l45.. 5th rumbling bad!!!  but so's the guy down the road with his g54.. when the time and parts become available i think go w56. wish i could get my hands on a turbo bellhousing, people have been almost throwing the v6 r trannys away.
