So correct me if I am wrong but these breakage's have nothing to do with 21 or 23 spline correct? It look's like the hole shaft is twisting/shearing the splines them self's still look fine. Unless the 23 spline stuff is a different material they would do the same thing right? Am I missing somthing here? If the splines failed then the splines themself's would be stripped clean.

the splines themselves aren't necessarily the issue, just the actual size of the shaft. 23 spline being larger than the 21 spline.

So the shaft it self is larger on the 23 spline? I thought it was just cut with different spline count.

mike, i twisted the splines on mine, output in between reduction housing and the t case.

i have a 4.7 and a 2.28

i replaced it before it broke, but it was VERY twisted

my rig is a 22re with 37s

I know of 3 people and myself that have ran the 21 spline in the rear and never had a problem.
