Need L-43 or L-52 transmission for 1980 4x4
« on: May 06, 2004, 10:28:29 PM »
Guys

I lost the tranny in my truck and will either replace the stock L-43 4-spd or put in an L-52 5 spd whichever I can do the cheapest and quickest.  I understand that if I go the 5 spd route, I will also need the shift fork, slave cylinder, throwout bearing and collar, lower bellhousing bolts and the shifter.  Tell me what you got and what you need to get out of it.  My zip is 79703 for shipping estimates.

sounds reasonable if you have the other parts I need.  shifter, shift fork, clutch cylinder, throwout bearing collar and lower bellhousing bolts.

I got an L-52.  I got it out of a junkyard and never ran it.  Instead I went with an L52HD from Marlin Crawler.  It has no visible problems and turns smoothly.  Sold as is, however.  $125 plus $110 shipping and handling, or you could drive to Alabama.  :hammer:
