celica motor?
« on: Jul 05, 2007, 12:43:21 PM »
I have a buddy that has an 85 efi celica he wants to get rid of. Can I take the efi stuff off of it and put it on my 22r? Don't they have a 22re? Or is the wireing harness differant? same with the computer? he wants 50 bucks for it or a cd player. It has a bad tranny though but I don't need the tranny, so just wondering if I can do it or if it is a bad deal. Thanks Cody

it is 22re, so I just would have to get the harness and computer from a truck. and on a side note what all do I need to get from the car? Do I need the gas tank from a truck or can I put a differant pump in mine?

I would take everthing from under the hood manifold, evap canister, fuel filter bracket, knock sensor, egr, air filter, and piping, AFM, water piping, and anything else that is different from yours. Get an efi tank for your truck an both harness. If you have power steering, check the pump they are different.

yeah no problem, just take the complete harness off the c-motor use some 22re truck mounts bolt it in then get a 22re truck harness-brain-ect.  and later do the oil pan it might work in it.  remember if you do the pan you also have to use the new pickup tube.   heads up the wiring is a pain in the ass,  I hope you have a full doner.

dude, besides  the oilpan and pickup tube,  the motors  are identical, as far as that goes  the computer  and harness  are close enough to  work,

if  your truck is a 86  or newer  you already have all the harness,   Toyota  didnt use  different harnesses,  the wires  are  just looped back in the  wire loom
