TOYOTA LIFT OPTIONS???
« on: May 28, 2007, 01:56:32 PM »
I got an 81 toy pick-up, I need to have crazy mad flex to out perfrom my buddies XJ. So my question is whats the best way to go on lifts.

1. Should i just go the cheap route and move the rear springs up front and gets some 63' chevy springs in the rear
2. marlin crawlers 5' kit
3.  all pro's 7.5' kit
4.Custom springs from alcan

welcome to the site, check out the suspension forum, there are a lot of posts there about what people use.... the marlins 5" is a great kit... but what size tires are you planning on running and what about trimming the fenders? it all really depends on how you use the truck and its ultimate goals...

I want to run 35's and trim the fenders, the ultimate goal is something that can drive the trail and wheel get crazy flex then drive home

I run rears up front and flex almost as well as my friends cherokee. Its hard to compare leafs to coils , but flex is sometimes over rated. Marlin or comparable suspension systems are great, but the old school brands like rancho, and superlift don't offer much in the form of flex.

Marlin springs are great, but you can definitely get soem good flex out of some junkyard springs, and rears up front if yo utake the time to mix and match some spring packs
