Rear disc conversion
« on: Apr 12, 2007, 08:13:12 PM »
I am wanting to do a rear disk conversion on my four runner and im not going to pay 500$ for a kit, so i have a couple questions.

What rotor and caliper combination should I use?

Is there any thing I have to do with the lines?

Sorry if topic has already been discussed but i appreciate your help.

Ruff stuff has an adapter to run Tacoma calipers and rotors in the rear.
Sky and some others have adapter to run chevy calipers and rotors in the rear.

I used sky for the adapters and went to autozone for every thing els and it cost me $250.
- Sky Manufacturing for the brackets
- Autozone for Chevy Monte Carlo calipers and Chevy 1500 front ifs rotors(you need to cut the center hole out bigger) and all the caliper hoses and hardware.
like i said $250 and i did not get any core charges back.
I also run a t-100 master cylinder and a after market proportioning valve(just put it on after a year). you will need to adapt your line to a sae fittings for the new calipers hoses.
