Topic: Attention power tank guru's

i just have some simple questions.

1  i just got 2 co2 tanks both are 20 lbs one is steel and one is aluminum.  is the only differeance the obvios ones like the steel one ways more but can take a beating but the aluminum is lighter and more fradgile??

2  can the tanks be ran upside down and on there sides?? 


3.If I have 2 regulators.  if one has a burt disk that is leaking can that be easily changed( the guy at air gas said  it needs to be done by a technission and he wanted 75 to fix it.  i would think i could just screw a new one in?

4 also the guy said that co2 is a wet product ( duh it is in luquid form)  but i know it gets cold when it escapes  so it could condense water out  of the air.  do i need a a water seperator to fill tire and run air tools??


5 Anyone know if i can paint the airgas tanks and if i do will they except them in trade when i exhange them for fill?

6 is the regulator on the power tanks go up to 90 psi?   or what do they go up to?
  what psi should i set the regulator to fill my tires??

They can be stored any way you want but they can only be used upright.

co2 has water in it. h20 is water. The tank pressure should be around 800 psi for co2, that is why they can use an aluminum tank.

You can own your own tanks, you just need to have them refilled.

For 75 bucks you should be able to get a new regulator.

the guy i bought the regulator from says he has another one i can have for free but it is for soda and only goes up to 30 psi. would that be ok for filling tires at least.  thanks for the input all im earnign alot thanks.

so the guy there looked at me funny and said "whydot you use nitrogen and a nitrogen tank.  it is not wet and it is used in race car tires and keeps them cooler"  are  nitrogen tanks just hold compressed air? isnt air mostly nitrogen anyway.  wouldnt it run out faster?

our tires dont heat up like race car tires... so that property is not needed. Also, nitrogen does not fluctuate in pressure with temperature changes as much as CO2 or regular air so the tire pressures can be super accurate >> read: race car use. According to powertank>>>> the big difference is volume....Having one tank of CO2 is like carrying three tanks of nitrogen. For those of you that need nitrogen for shocks or critical tire pressures we do have the PRO Series N2 compatible Superflow Regulator as well as N2 shock filling tools.

 I am not sure if you are trying to be a smart butt, or thought I was trying to, but I work for the city water dept. and do a lot of paper work. I have gotten into the habit of abbreviating. Actually typing out the word water 350 times a day sucks so we shorten it.
