i deffinatly got water in them on more than one occasion! and that's what i thought was all i had to do!
It might be, or it might not be. Mine have been like that, and I just took the cap off the hub, and wiped out all the gunk. Sprayed it with some brake cleaner, washed that off after 20 minutes, wiped everything dry with a rag, let it sit for a while to dry completely, then put some new grease in, and put the cap back on. I also ran a small bead of permatex around the cap, no more water in the hub. You may get lucky, you may not. All my rust was surface, so it cleaned off pretty well

and make sure you lube it before putting it in.
I thought that was what foreplay was for, Mr.W
