need help asap (oil leak)

i have an 85 pickup that my girlfriend is using for a dd right now and it has just started leaking mass amounts of oil from somewhere on the front side of the motor that dosent appear to ba a usual spot like from behind the crank pully or from the distributer o ring but it looks to be coming from somewhere up high im headed to the car wash right now to clean it any help or ideas would be great thanks  Ryan

what about the egr pump? i forgot to put a bolt in mine and that thing spewed oil all over the place

Probably one of the half moons on the valve cover.

its looking like it could possably be the fuel pump any thoughts on that maybe. I dont belive it is the vavle cover or half moon the truck is a carbed truck and we put in a new t-chain and steel guides and the cover was good about 15,000 miles ago or less all new gaskets and a new fuel pump about 2 yrs ago

lol found it quickly after i started it up and it flung oil in my face ya it is definatly the seal behind the crank pully  :cheese: thanks alot for the help anyways

Trick I learned about the oil pump seals to keep them from pushing out. When you install the new one, take a flathead screw driver and smack the seal housing at the 12-3-6-9 O'clock marks. This will make a few teeth on the pump that will help hold the seal in better.
