92 4runner wiring help
« on: Mar 08, 2008, 04:27:13 PM »
As some may know, I buggied my 92 4runner a couple of years ago and have since put an 88 toy cab back on the frame to put it back on the road. I am trying to reuse the 4runner wiring harness in the new truck because the 88's harness was burnt to a crisp, but the runners harness had all of the unnessisary wiring cut off and now I need it :hammer:. My questions are, what color are the wires for the front and rear turn signal lights and for the rear tail lights? Also, where can I find the turn signal flasher on the 92 4runner harness? My chiltons manual says it is either under the hood or in the fuse box behind the drivers side kick pannel but I can't find it in either location :maddest:. I am just about to the point of takeing a sledge hammer to this thing so any help would be greatly appreciated. :_order:

The blinker and marker lights run green with a colored stripe for power and white with a stripe for ground.  Ill post back the exact codes tomorrow for you.

The blinker can is under the steering column, A standard blinker can will fit in place of the stocker just fine, so you won't have to blow money on a stocker from the dealer.

Not sure which is which but the color codes are green with white stripe and red dashes and the other is green with red dashes.  The grounds are both white with black stripe.  Hope this helps. :)

Cool, thanks. I finally found my flasher but i'm not getting any power. All the fuses are good and it clicks when I run a jumper wire to it but the blinkers won't work. I think it's  :flamer: time or just signal the old fashioned way  :disturbed:   BTW, it's good to see you back on here. it's been a while

One more question. Does anyone know if I need to have all of my lights hooked up before before the flasher will get power to it or does it matter? I've been testing it without the lights hooked up so I could find out for sure what wires go to my signal lights front and rear. I am just about to say flop it and try to get a complete harness somewhere. :maddest:
