so me and my business partner were doing some research on the goods and bads of weld on kits and found out that alot of people don't want to run them because they have to cut their existing rim. We'll we've come up with a way to not have to cut you rim. Granted it will make your wheel 3/4 of an inch wider however if eliminates all of the cutting envolved. All you do is take the inner ring and weld it on to the outer most lip of your existing ring. then mound your tire like you normally would and bolt the outer ring on. It takes the cutting out and helps with the leak prevention. Let me know if this would be a better idea or if i should just stay the course and make the other ones where you cut your bead off.  :dunno:

Dude where have you been? That is the style that pretty much all the kits on the market are. There is no reason to cut your outer bead anymore. The ones that drop inside the lip are what I have and they add about 1.5." They work great.

i personaly wouldent put them on a 10in wheel unless your running a 16"+ wide tire but thats just me only reason i wouldent is for fear of blowing inner beads in the snow i mannaged to blow a rear inner bead with 36x12.5x15 tsl sx's the wheels started as 15x8's the bead locks made them about a 15x9 although i was also running about a half pound of air pressure but if you already have 10in wheels you might as well try it if you dont want to buy new ones if nothing else you can sell them and get some new ones

I'm with ya on this one.

I've always felt that a 4.5" difference is ideal.
12.5" wide tire = 8" wheel
13.5" wide tire = 9" wheel
14.5" wide tire = 10" wheel

etc

I planned on getting 40" Rockers that are 16.5 wide so I welded rings to 15x10s. Well plans changed so I ended up running my 38x12.50 TSLs and have not had a problem. The tire actually went flat and I drove on it that way for quite a while and the inner bead held. I have run the combination over some really wicked trails and surprisingly they held up fine. I agree it is not ideal but I don't think it would be the end of the world. I personally would not hesitate to run a 14" tire on a beadlocked 10" wide wheel.

Weve got the program figured out and the rings in the computer saved tomorrow were getting metal and monday were gonna cut some prototypes out. I have to find a set of 8in rims to try these out on. And get ahold of fastenall to see what kind of deal they will give us on nuts and bolts.

I bought bolts for 20.00 for one set at Fastenal. I think they were 3/8" x 1.5" long with washer and nylock nuts.

were gonna use 3/8 bolts but with nutserts instead of nylocks (at least on our sets) if you want hardware with them it might be a little more cost i don't know. Still waiting to see if Fastenal will give us a break for buying in bulk
