91 FJ 62?
« on: Dec 15, 2006, 08:36:57 PM »
Just picked it up tonight and really am in the dark about these rigs. Is there a "bible" or FAQ where I can read up on it? Thanks.

Are you sure you have a 91' 62? last year for the 62 was 90'. 91' was an fj80. unless your in Canada,oz,Japan any where but the U.S.

I hate to keep pimping another Board, but you wont be able to find anything better then http://forum.ih8mud.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27

Yeah I was surprized also. It is most definately not an 80, so I assume it is the 62. Let me go confirm the year and try to get some other specs and maybe some pics.

OK, I'm sorry. I just checked the door jam and dicovered this truck was made in 9/89 making it a 1990 model. So back to my original question of finding info on this truck...? Thanks

OK so I checked out most of that IH8MUD link and found a few things, but is someone here able to point out anything truly noteworthy about this truck? Most specifically, what parts have decent resale value etc etc...

Ok all you want to know about the fj62, For starters it has a 3fe for motor and is one of the best motors toyota made for the land cruisers, then it has an auto for a trans and it is a good trans but kills the the h/p from the motor. The t/c has a big Idler shaft and is strong as hell with a vacuum front input for the front drive. Lets talk about the the axles in the 62 bye far the best toyota made it has 4.11 in the diffs with a full gusset front. It is the perfect parts rig for any land cruiser project.

Please bear with me as I'm the uber noob in regards to LC's in general. This truck is a 1990 model, so does that for sure mean it is the FJ62? What are the differences between the 62 and the 60? I have a 1985 4Runner that I'm in the process of parts gathering for and picked this FJ up for investment purposes. I have a buddy with a Samurai who was looking for these axles because he needed the rear offset and figured they would make a good trade for his already geared and locked Toy mini truck axles he has in it now. I will entertain offers however on seperate parts and/or the whole vehicle for any of you who may be interested. I live in Plainfield NH.

**This truck currently does not run and the tranny is allegedly stuck in 1st gear which is why I assume it wont start**

60=carb,stick,3.73,2F4.2L,round headlights
62=inj,auto,4.11,3FE4.0L?,square headlights

there are other things like dash,power windows,fenders,etc...

and yes you have a Toyota LandCruiser FJ62.

A lot of cruiser guys on www.pirate4x4.com also. But be careful what you ask!

 Yeah I've already searched over there some, but I've found nothing stating what parts typically sell for how much. I have the axles removed now and have them posted elsewhere for $600/pr. If anyone needs specific interior/exterior parts, please speak up before this thing gets crushed and sold for scrap.
