Topic: will a v6 tranny bolt up to a 22re???

i found a 87 4runner that needs a tranny for 600 and i found a v6 tranny for 100.  sounds like a good deal 4runner may need a water pump or new seal.  would that work??

The V6 transmission (R150F 5 Speed) is 23 Spline so you'll need a 23 Spline T/C to go with it to make it work. Not sure if you can convert a 21 spline to a 23 spline T/C... But anyway the short answer is no, not without a little headache...

the tranny has the tcase sorry.  i should have mentioned that.  what I was wondering if the v6 bell housing will bolt up.  I heard i may need a turbo bellhousing,  The guy solt the 4runner ALREADY THOUGH

yea  you would need a R151  bell  to make it work

if i was you i'd grab the tranny,  thats  a great price for that tranny and tcase,  then  use them as cores  for parts from Marlin

you need a turbo bell housing, not necesarily a r151, the 2wd's use the same as a v-6 as far as the ratio's go. just need a 22ret bellhousing, and buy the r-150 to gear driven t-case adapter from marlin. you will have a strong trans, but will have a worse first gear.
