Will Tacoma calipers work on Toy straight axles?
« on: Nov 08, 2006, 04:05:16 PM »
I did a search and couldn't find anything relevant.  Has anybody used Tacoma calipers on their straight axles?

ive done it, they physically bolt on, however-the rotor channel does not line up, so custom rotors would need to be used, or slide on rotors with spacers??? i dunno, i put tundra calipers on my rig for a bit but couldnt get the rotors to line up correctly (tundras before 04 had the same calipers as tacos) :cheese:

In your opinion would it be worth all of the cost?

i looked into having custom rotors made, they are like 300 each (since they are 1 offs)
but in the long run, a set of v6 calipers and fj40 or 80 rotors is about as good  as it gets without spending stoopid money

Yes, very good info.  Looks like the V6 calipers and 80 rotors are in my future   Thanks crawlerdan!

Unless I'm completely off my rocker..  You can buy brackets from GravelMaker and put those calipers on your rear axle.  :smoken:  I think they are $45 bucks too.
