Downloading music?
« on: Jan 13, 2006, 11:54:25 PM »
So I upgraded to the cd/dvd burner when I bought my computer but haven't used it yet.  I'm looking for safe places and techniques for burning cds and dvds.  I will not file share cause it's just too easy to pick up other people's problems and viruses.  Any suggestions?  I'm not too computer savvy so keep it in lamons terms please.

iTunes is one, but you have to pay like a good little boy.

As far as places to steal free copyrighted material, well lets just say this is not the place to discuss that.

The Marlin Crawler board never condones illegal activity. And downloading copyrighted material is illegal. End of story.

And discussing it is in fact, a violation of the rules of the board :banned:

I have many many friends who've downloaded music for free, and not one of them has ever broken the law.  I'm looking for FREE LEGITIMATE downloads, assuming they're available.  If the only legal way to do it is via sharing then sobeit.  I also don't feel like paying for anything right now since my landlord sold his house and I was just given my 30 days notice.  As you may have noticed, I obviously don't know much about this subject, so if anybody finds this thread out of order then please delete it rather than trying to make me look like a criminal!

Thanks to the member who pm'd me some good info on safe fast sharing, I'll check it out mang

Not sure if it's possible to record streaming music :dunno: It would be like recording music off the regular radio but i havent figured out how to do it yet. Not sure if it's legal either :shhh:

My sound card came with a sound recorder that records the output of the card.  It's possible, just unknown if legal.

So I tried downloading limewire, but it said it couldn't complete until I downloaded java (can't remember which part of java), so I tried that and it too will not download.  Both programs say my computer is not allowing them to finish, but I reset my firewalls and allowed for both programs to access my computer, but they still both get denied.  WTF?!
