79-80 transfercase ?
« on: Oct 12, 2006, 12:14:37 PM »
Is their any reason not to use a 79 or 80 model transfer case when building a dual case setup ? My front case will be a forward shift and the 80 model top shift will be behind my adaptor . It seems like I read some where that you have to cut the shaft off alittle , and I was wondering if it would be noisy ? I seen where here on the board it said somthing about them having noisy gears ? Also whats (21 Spline "Fuseless" L43-Style Input )  fuseless mean ??  PLEASE HELP

the L43 input  didnt have the "fuse"  on the input shaft,  making it actually  stronger,   it  is the strongest 21 spline input  there is,  BUT   it has  to be ground off just a little of  the spline so it  slided all the way into the MC07 adapter,  no  problem,  i used a 4 inch grinder on mine
