Glen,
they worked fine. just like they were supposed too.  They decreased compressed side main leaf twist, allowed for more droop and as a unintended side effect produced a kind of anti-squat. There are disadvantages too.
On a truck (or any front engine vehicle for that matter) there is a problem with steep decents on high traction surfaces.  Front end weight bias combined with front end brake bias.  And into this equation add virtually uncontrolled extention of the rear suspension and well you get a really metallic flopping noise. Aka the chance to see the bottom of you truck while looking down at it instead of up at it.
Trail toys, of any make or model have a tendency to get built for going up stuff, sans much thought into how well they will come back down.

:ack:hmmm ,  yea i can see where on a steep downhill,  mashing the middle pedal hard could send the winch into the dirt with the rear bumber 4 feet or more in the air

Good.
I was speaking of very steep, very high traction stuff. Waterfall type stuff.
And on an off topic note:
Did you see my post about/do you still have that D44?

I was told to stay away from them because they can cause Severe wheel hop and can unload when you don't want them to. But I have never used them so I have no First hand experience.  When I swap in my 63" chevy's I am not going to use the double shackle because they have the same disadvantages.   I guess it depends on the type of wheeling you do.

okay so from what ive read so far, the revolvers would be good in a more or less stock truck to get a little more motivation on your average trails,  but for class 4 or 5 trails aka waterfalls, rubicon ,  :nerv:the really knarly stuff dude :thud: an orbit eye would be of great benefit

I have herd so many stories on double shackle and revolvers I don't know what to believe..I bought a used set and will be trying them out to see first hand how they do and if I like them..seems to be 50/50 on the scale of like and dislike so I will have to find out for my self..

My dad (BurgToy) has them on his 80,  he has done coyote bald swamp and also was at the round up last year without any problems.  But in thoery we can definitly see where in an extreme situation it will unload.
