« on: May 04, 2006, 01:16:14 PM »
So when I rolled I ripped both motor mounts off the rubber pad thing. I havnt replaced motor mounts yet and I need some tips/ help on this task. I am buying some stock replacement ones for now. Anyone have any tech articles or suggestions for me to follow. Thanks.

use a short piece of chain to prevent it from coming out again,  just attach one end to the motor side of the mount and then attach the other end to the frame

i tried to reply to you on the pirate board, but it keep locking up on me.

Look at the FAQ on the top of the toy truck forum.  Search the page for "motor mount tech"..  Chain them down while they are out.

(pic is from the FAQ on pirate)

I kept busting driver side mounts until i did the chain.  Now i wish i did the passenger side too. (popped one in reverse.)

To change'em, yea, just jack up the motor by the pan (with block of wood) or transmission.

once you jack it up, are the bolts pretty easy to remove?

since your mounts are already ripped apart I hink you'd be better off bolting them instead of chain.
scroll about halfway down to the motor mount post, I tried to post the pic but wrong type of file.
